I am looking forward to joining the wonderful staff at Ballard and becoming a part of the Ballard Family. This is my first year as the Student Support Specialist (SSS). Before accepting this position I was a teacher for 7 years. I began my career teaching 4th and then 3rd grade at Palma Sola Elementary and then continued my teaching career for the next 5 years at Wakeland where I taught 1st grade for 2 years and 2nd grade for 3 years.
I went to school at Elon University in North Carolina where I received a Bachelors degree in Psychology in 2006. After working for a little while in a sales position I decided that I want to pursue the career that I truly enjoyed. I went back to school and received a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida in 2008. I am currently enrolled at Florida State University where I am pursuing my Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership/Administration. I am certified K-6 and have my ESOL endorsement.

My wife of 4 years is also a teacher (as are my mother (she retired at the end of the 2012-2013 school year after teaching for 37 years in the public school system), father, sister, and 2 cousins). She teaches 2nd grade at Willis Elementary.

In my free time I like to travel around the country and world. This past summer I stayed in Narragansett RI with my extended family. My most recent international trip was to Ireland in July of 2013). I enjoy running and usually enter in multiple local races. I try and find races that benefit charities that I feel are valuable and important or that have impacted my family on a personal level. I have completed 3 half marathons. This year I plan on running 2 to 3 more. I also like to spend time with my wife and friends, read, and cheer for my favorite sports teams. I love to watch sports, my favorite teams being the Red Sox and the Gators!
I am looking forward to working with your children this year and helping to guide them on their educational journey.
